Intern Drop-in

HEY YOU!

Are you interested in becoming a DJ?
It's fun and easy, and there is no experience required!
Come to our intern drop-in on August 31st, 2010 at 6pm in the Hendrix Student Center!
We will be there giving you some delicious & free pizza, introducing ourselves, and giving tours of the station. We will explain briefly what the station is about, and how the interning process works, and you can decide from there if you want to continue on in the best experience OF YOUR LIFE!!

WSBF is located on the 3rd floor of the Hendrix Student Center. (This is where the Barnes and Noble, Career Center, and McKissick Movie theatre is and where Orientation check-in was if you are a new student). Just ride the glass elevators on up and follow the signs.

More about us:
We are a student run organization. Students and community members may join and become a DJ. We are an alternative and educational radio station. We broadcast on the air at 88.1 and online at wsbf.net/listen

Some radio stations play music, and some radio stations love you. <3

Pitchfork Music Festival Coverage

WSBF DJ David Ballou attended Pitchfork Music Festival this year, press credentials in hand, and on Thursday August 12th his coverage of the festival will air from 7-10pm. The show will feature music and interviews from artists at the festival including Big Boi and Here We Go Magic, as well as interviews with the Editor in Chief of Pitchfork Media and more. Tune in for sweet sounds and the the coolest twenty seconds of recorded sound ever.

More Festival Coverage

Hot off the heels of WSBF DJ David Ballou's return from Pitchfork Music Festival, WSBF is excited to announce yet another festival we'll be covering this summer. Summer GM Kevin Haag and Chief Announcer Remy Watts will be heading down the road to Athens for the Athens PopFest.

Athens PopFest will be August 10th-14th and will feature a ton of bands, including Apples in Stereo, Mission of Burma, Defiance Ohio, Joe Jack Talcum (of the Dead Milkmen), Nana Grizol, PS Eliot, Go Sailor, and many more. If you want more information about Athens PopFest, check out http://athenspopfest.com/ and keep an eye out for a recap show of the event.

Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band

Music Festivals

Hopefully you're tuning into the programming that we have lined up for you during your lazy summer days.

Just an update: So far this summer, we've sent WSBF staff to festivals including Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, and Dexfest. Kristi Laffler will host a special broadcast on Bonnaroo; stay tuned for that. Furthermore, David Ballou will be attending Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago!

This is super cool because we can talk to potential headline artists for our third annual festival! It's still far away (April 2011) but we're starting to plan now. WSBF is always finding the best new bands for your enjoyment, and this summer is no different!

Keep checking the website in the future weeks for information on our fall concert series! We've got another great year ahead of us!

"Some stations play music, but only one station loves you... 88.1 WSBF!"
